Every Party Has a Pooper

We all know them. We all have them in our lives. You know what I'm talking about.

Everybody has someone in their lives who vehemently refuses to be happy. Okay, forget happy, they won't even be content.

It didn't begin this way. The first time you met them you thought, "What a cool person!" They were alive, vivacious even, and you thought that you were beginning a truly meaningful friendship.

Only later do you discover that this is ALL a part of their game. While sucking you in, they are only planning to suck you dry. Emotionally, that is.

Suddenly, this person goes from being one of the funniest, smartest, most lovable people you know, to the only person you know who has never had a good day in their entire life.

It's heartbreaking, frustrating, and a little maddening, but you put up with it. You may need the good karma.

Just in case you ever become what they are.

Srsly?

This past week I have been sick off and on and it's driving me CRAZY! I mean if I'm sick why don't I just STAY sick, and when I get better why don't I just STAY better!

I feel like my head is going to explode from stress, not sickness symptoms (which I won't list here so I can be diagnosed by the WebMd's of the blogosphere).

When I'm sick I miss my family, and this week has been no different. I have to get up to Fort Wayne soon. Very soon.

These are the loves of my life. For sure.

This is What Happens When You Love a Nerd

My boyfriend is a bonafide nerd. I love him, and he's great...a great, big, nerd. When DJ and I began seeing each other, we had two things in common: Books and Comedy. I was still doing stand-up at this time, and that's where we met.

I could tell that I was attracted to him immediately. He was tall, funny, cute, and oh-my-freaking-goodness SMART. I was involved with someone else at the time (my only regrettable relationship), but DJ was determined to make me fall in love with him. Whether he knew it or not.

To impress him, I asked him to lend me The Watchmen so that I could talk to him about comic books. My though process was that I would give it a shot, probably hate it, and then discuss it with him. Shock and Awe, I LOVED it!

Needless to say, I am now a fan of graphic novels and am currently working my way through this series. The fourth one will be in my possession soon and I can not wait for it!
